Listening Ears, Have A Word

Private | Remote | Online | Face to Face

There are many reasons you might consider going to private Therapy. Private, Therapeutic services can have a reputation for being expensive - Listening Ears, Have A Word is different by offering low cost and flexible options. It is my passion to create affordable and convenient sessions within your life - especially if you have difficulty leaving the house or using transport. Listening Ears offers a FREE introductory session to allow you to decide if you would like to work together.

It is really important that you feel safe and ask plenty of questions during an introductory session to trust in the person you are talking to. Getting the most out of the sessions can sometimes feel difficult, but there are positive steps you can take before you begin - starting with these questions.

- Am I ready to explore my thoughts, feelings and behaviours?

- Do I feel able to open up about things that are very personal or hard to talk about?

- Is there anything else I need help with first (such as housing or financial issues)?

Some clients feel isolated and have no one else to talk to, but even people with supportive family and friends can find it difficult to talk to loved ones about feeling anxious or depressed. They may find it easier to talk about personal, family or relationship issues with an independent professional Therapist.

Therapy involves a series of formal sessions where (the Therapist and the client) talk about the client’s issues and feelings. Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at a regular, agreed time and in a safe, private place where the client and Therapist will not be overheard or interrupted - a headset is used, during all online sessions.

Therapy can involve talking about:

- Life Events

- Feelings and Emotions

- Relationships

- Ways of Thinking

- Patterns of Behaviour

As your Therapist, I will listen, encourage and empathise but will also challenge to help you see issues more clearly or from a different perspective. Counselling is not about giving advice or opinions, nor is it a friendly chat with a friend.

Therapy | Feedback

I can honestly say that having this growth experience with

 myself and feel suitably equipped.

I cannot thank you enough for helping me get to the the place I am now, which is more happy and settled than I have felt in a very long time.

You have helped me through a very difficult period for which I am forever thankful. You are a precious person .

Listening Ears - Virtual, Flexible Therapy

Online Session

Professional online platform, mutually agreed to create ease of use and engagement. There is absolutely no need to turn the camera on during your session, however it will be encouraged to do so. You will see me, throughout the session - and I will always wear a headset.

Evening Availabilty

Sessions can be created to suit your life - It is my passion to create flexible support. Evenings can sometimes be the most vulnerable for those people living with mental health issues, including when experiencing high periods of stress.

Telephone Session

Telephone sessions are just like a face to face session, however I believe in creating a different option for your convenience.  Not everyone can leave the house easily or access services in travelling distance. Telephone sessions eliminate the worry of using a camera.

Weekend Availability

Thoughts, issues and worries do not stop at the weekend. It is important that an option of weekend Therapy sessions enhances more of a flexible approach for you, the client.

Listening Ears, Have A Word Private Therapy

Each client will be given an individual, ethical agreement created right at the beginning of the relationship.

This is where costs and affordability are discussed. The price can start from just £25 per session.

Have A Word

If you know someone has been unwell, don’t be afraid to ask how they are.

They might want to talk about it, or they might not. But just letting them know they don’t have to avoid the issue with you is important.

Spending time with your loved one lets them know you care, and can help you understand what they’re going through.

The Have A Word Facebook page encourages people to think more about mental health and the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Professional, Trained and Insured

I hold Higher Education Certificate in Psychology, Professional Diploma in Neuroplasticity, Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling skills, analysis and theory, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and demonstrated knowledge as certification - Psychological Wellbeing Practioner (PWP) which combines my approach within CPCAB and BACP accrediting bodies. I use a high level of competencies alongside ethical guidelines to create a framework that suits and strengthen a therapeutic relationship - with referrals made, for specified therapy where needed. I use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) and psychodynamic theories whilst acknowledging the emotions of fear and sadness as the starting point.

Lucy's Note

Empathy is the source of every client-Therapist relationship I create, right from the beginning. Empathy is the ability to recognise, understand and share the thoughts and feelings of another person. Developing empathy is crucial for establishing relationships and behaving compassionately. It involves experiencing another person’s point of view and enables helpful behaviours that come from within, rather than being forced.

Whether it be short or long term support that is required,  I encourage you to start the journey and hear how private, affordable Therapy sessions can help you - ENQUIRE NOW
